The Best AFL Game EVER

Makoa and Don have been bonding at AFL games for a few years now. They started in Melbourne cheering on the Collingwood Magpies, and now they also go to games in Sydney rooting for the Swans. They have the whole routine down - with snacks, special treats each quarter, ball to play with outside the stadium after the game is over. But the game last weekend was a little bit different. After the teams left the field they opened it up for everyone to play on. Makoa and Don had brought our American football this time - turns out it made it easier to spot with hundreds of balls and people on the field. Makoa was beyond giddy showing Don his drop kicks

and even scoring a goal! Can you imagine being 4 and playing on the pro field?! Amazing! And so cute to be his mom and hear all about it :)

My happy boys!

Fall has come to Sydney

By the looks of our backyard, fall is here. When Koa went outside this morning when Koa he asked if could get out the rake this evening because 'it is fall in our yard!'

The raker

the helper

the pile (notice the new little walker leaving the shot)

Makoa wanted me to take his photo on the pile

apparently Tasiana did not

and enjoying the fruits of his labor

Now if only the change in seasons didn't include coughs and colds and fevers and sore throats . . .

The Grandmas Came to Visit!!

We had wonderful adventures with the Grandmas in Australia this April . . .

A hike and tide pooling in Manly.

Lots of outside playing.

Played mini golf at 4 different places - including 2 new ones.

Helped cook.

Opened goodies from the Grandmas . . . someone brought lots of stickers.

Well you saw the post about Easter.

Mom and I saw Mary Poppins on stage and Don and Lois climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

We waved to Grandma Debbie taking a walk and there was a double rainbow over our neighbour's house.

It was so lovely to have the Grandmas here to visit and play and to celebrate with us. We miss you!!

Easter

The Easter bunny hides baskets at our house for the kids to find first thing in the morning,

Makoa LOVED everything!

Then we had another egg hunt outside (we have been practicing for a month)

followed by another and another . . . I am currently playing a game with the toys very very similar to the egg hunt in fact!

Celebration!

On the 23rd we had a party to celebrate - 4 years in Australia, both Grandmas visiting, Easter, & Tasiana's first birthday!! We had a blast making Easter hats, decorating cookies, throwing balls at Grandma LoLo, then the rain stopped just in time for Easter Bunny Debbie to hide eggs for a hunt,

and finally cake

and presents!

It was a wonderful celebration with friends and family :)
