Now, I was not about to take my time and throw something at this spider so you could get a sense of size, but with his legs this Hunter spider was a bit bigger than the palm of my hand. Hunter spiders are not poisonous, and this wasn't the biggest one I have seen near my house, but it is a little different than waking up with a daddy long leg spider in the tub. Don went to eat his cereal and I told him that it was urgent for him to put this thing outside. He humoured me and came in with a plastic bag and dustpan thinking the spider was big so probably wasn't very fast . . . think again. Even with the bowl and plate trick the spider jumped out the first time. Thankfully Don managed to wrangle it and put it outside where he belongs.

When I went outside to make sure the spider left the balcony to bother somebody else I noticed a few of these bright blue beetles on the wall.

Haven't I seen enough Australian wildlife for one day? I mean COME ON!
