We were watching Hi-5 and Nathan (one of the characters) starts singing a song about rolling out his swag under a gum tree next to a billabong because it is so hot in the Australian bush. Makoa saw Swaggie Nathan and his blue roll and rushed down the hall saying, "Koa swag, Hi-5 swag." He very carefully took the straps off his blue swag (which he found in the hall closet) and rolled it out - notice the tongue helping out!

Very proud of himself, Makoa then sat on his swag to watch the rest of the show!
*Aussie slang defined
Swag - Bedroll
Billabong - Watering Hole
Gum Tree - Eucalyptus
Bush - Outback
(see how much you can learn from watching Australian kids' shows!)

Just last night we were wondering whether or not Makoa would have an Australian accent when he comes this June. We guessed it wouldn't be an accent but he might have difficulty with us not understanding swaggies and nappies.
Such a smart boy!! Sure wish I could stop by and play with him.
