5 years & counting

July 8th marked our fifth year of marriage, which means Don and I have been together for a whopping eight years now . . . holy cow! Don took the day off of work and we took advantage of the fact that Makoa would be at day care on Monday. After the drop off at Elsina's, Don and I caught a bus to Circular Quay. We chose a ferry ride at random, well pretty much at random, there were a few maps and pamphlets at the Quay - anyway we chose to go to Watsons Bay. Check out where here.

It was a short ferry ride and as we hiked around the peninsula there beautiful views.

We hiked down to the nudist beach along the way . . . and stayed near the rocks!

And we made it to the Hornby Lighthouse built in 1858.

Then back to the warf for lunch.

After the ferry ride back to Sydney we saw Get Smart, because when you have a kid it is awfully difficult to watch movies in a theater. Everyone told us to go to dinner when we were pregnant, but I tell people to see a movie because you can bring a little one to a restaurant but it is a little more difficult in a theater. Anyway, on the bus trip back to pick Makoa up we reflected on our wonderful day and life together and realized how cheap of dates we are. I thought of that credit card commercial:

Ferry Ride: $20
Hike: Free
Lunch: $30
Movie: $30 (hey, we live in a big city, alright)
Spending 8 hours with my love to celebrate our anniversary: Priceless
Seeing an old-man penis at the beach: just a little added bonus (pun intended!)
