Independence Day

On Saturday, the 5th of July, we celebrated the 4th . . . well, it was the 4th in the US! The winter BBQ was hosted by The American Society. I recently met an American at playgroup who told me about this expat group. There were lots of kids for Makoa to run around with, crafts, a potluck with bagels (it's the little things!), and great people to share stories with, and we were even able to register to vote. There were even fireworks - it was amazing, a whole show for about 150 people! Makoa didn't like the loud noises, notice the frightened look in his eyes, but afterward when everyone cheered he clapped and yelled "yay!"
