Sick Baby

As it happens, babies somehow know that you were having such a fun time without them and want to let you know how much you were missed. So after our lovely day together celebrating our love, we picked up Makoa to have him throw up all over me and the floor. Don cracked me up running around like a chicken with his head cut off (I did grow up in the country) when I asked him to get me a towel as the heaving began. Yes, I was sitting in a room with 3 towels, I did laundry the day before and hadn't yet put them away. In is worried Daddy state he begins throwing small cut up blankets that I use as rags from the kitchen into the living room. By the time he returned I had calmly grabbed one of the beach towels from the chair and Makoa and I were all wiped up! Poor Makoa had a high temperature, so despite the cold he was in nothing but his nappy (I'm trying to use Aussie terms as I am told that diaper is 'such an American word'). Although he was sick it was so cute seeing these two sleeping together.

So, as a perfect way to end a wonderful day, I slept in Makoa's room taking care of him while Don got his beauty sleep in our room. Ah, the life of a parent.

And so you don't worry, Makoa was fine. Brought him to the doctor and they asked why I had brought him there- um, puking, fever . . . oh, but he wasn't doing those things at the exact second I was in the office, of course not because he was playing the cute baby part, and so they made me get a urine sample, "with boys it is so easy" I was told - right! Two hours later we were back at home and then I got sick :)

I swear there's nothing sweeter than a man with his baby. Gets me every time!
